The Journey Church
Robert and Elizabeth Fontenot
Having moved to New Mexico separately more than five years ago—Robert from Louisiana to be a ministry assistant and Elizabeth from Michigan to be a youth director—in 2014 both of the Fontenots had reached a "What now?" point in their ministries. God answered that question by bringing the two young missionaries together: in ministry first, as they came to lead The Journey Church as pastor and worship leader, and in marriage soon after.
In addition to leading The Journey Church, Robert serves as a board member for Hands of Hope, a local parachurch ministry serving expectant mothers and young families. He and Elizabeth both work with an extension of Hands of Hope, the Creating Positive Relationships program, which engages middle and high school students on topics like goal setting, healthy relationships, drugs, alcohol, and abstinence.
Elizabeth serves as the worship leader and ministry coordinator of The Journey Church, along with volunteering in local youth programs and substitute teaching to build relationships with local students.
